In 2018, Instagram's monthly users globally climbed to 700 million– an annual growth of about 200 million. Exact UK usage is unclear– 17.2 million users in the first half of 2018 were reported by Napoleancat, while 16.7 million users were reported by the eMarketers over the summer.
The skew of the channel is clear to a younger audience: 18- 34 years old make up 61% of the user base and about 81% of adults in the online age group use the Instagram in United Kingdom. A UKOM study also found that about half of the time spent every month on Instagram was between 18 and 24 years old.
It looks like 2018 is yet another successful year for the channel in UK with new innovators like Shopping, an increase in the use of story features (up to 300 million daily from October 2017) and nothing about new user growth slowing.
